These boys have been best friends since they were about eight years old. When we came to live in America it really hit Craig very hard . This year he spent all winter working just so he could come and see Tally. So we did a photo shoot so they would remember being together this year , as you can see they really are B.F.F.Love this series of them both

So my youngest sister is not only smart and beautiful but she is a real cowgirl. She asked me to take some pictures of her and her horse.I have never worked with a horse before and I was a little nervous of the horse and I dont think the horse was to pleased with me ,she was a little stressed after we tried to get my bro in law to have her cross a bridge .So this was more a fun shoot .Im hoping to go back and do another shoot when she's learnt to cross bridges :)

This couple were such fun to shoot and I have to say , not only are they beautiful on the outside but they are the same on the inside. Thanks for letting me spend time with you both. I had so much fun.

I have watched this clip so many times and I keep coming back to it, Ive posted it last year but i feel it warrants another post. I just feel to put it up again it is so inspiring. I watch it when I feel my life is hard to remind me of my blessings but most of all I watch this to remind me of the great love one human being can show to another and whatever your lot in life you can fly like a bird and soar. I dont feel sad when looking at these men - I think they have one of the most inspiring lives that anyone could and most of all they have family , because that is what its all really about ,your family and the love you share and show to each other .Go Hoyt family

So one of these days I may get to do a shoot with someone other than my kids, right now that isnt likely with all the snow, everyone hibernates and I hardly meet anyone. So anyway, this is Josh and we went and did his senior shoot before he cut off all that lovely hair - yep he is sheered now like a little lamb but he looks even more handsome. I am his adoring mom so I can say that :) . So here are a few from our shoot. I will try and post up more of the drums soon

Thought I would introduce you to some of my family. The cute girl in the previous post is my daughter and this is my oldest boy , yep he is my baby still . He is away in Indianapolis right now for two years on a Spanish speaking service mission for our church. I miss him alot but I know he is living and loving life. He now speaks fluent Spanish with an American twang and English with a very British accent, you have to hear it to believe it :).

Courage to Run

Last month I went to Salt Lake with my family for the breast cancer run. I was amazed at the determintaion of the families. We ran for my mother in law who is a survivor

they ran no matter how young or old because they loved someone..

its all about families.......

These women were running for a least five neighbours and friends.......

even the guys were out running, breast cancer isnt just about women, somebody has a mother, daughter, sister,

I took so many photos that day and did not get the names of people , these two sweeties with the banner really wanted their photo taken even though they didnt know me .

sometimes you run because you know you can beat this.......

How do you shoot?

I was watching an interview this morning with Diana Walker about her new book on Thirty years of portraits and they asked if she could give one piece of advice on how to photograph portraits what would it be? She answered " shoot with your eyes and heart". I was thinking this is when I love to photograph the most ,when my heart sees the tender moments in life, when I stop worrying about all the technical stuff and when I get into the zone of feeling how others are feeling , thats when I love my work.
